It’s not the hardest one to figure out by far but there’s no asspulling either.Ĭlannad’s main issue is that there’s a lot of fluff. Each route has some hints and they all make sense. It’s the only one where I have nothing to nitpick about unless you did Fine’s route first, I lucked out and placed her in the correct 3rd position. Symphonic Rain is a gem, I’m not sure how good the official localization is, I read the fantl with the og sprites.

I’ll update it here and there, probably twice a year If the name is in orange, then it’s because I wrote about it I’ve been reading on and off for like 20 years, so some are kind of hazy, they’re generally lower in the list anyway. Otherwise half of this list would be somewhere up there but it’s not. Because this one amazing route in the pile of mediocre routes doesn’t make it deserve that 10 or 9. The main issue I see with ratings is how it’s pretty hard to remove bias from it and to remove your feelings. A lot of it is based on the oversaturation of the genre and I could randomly pick 8 of them and have around the same quality so it’s almost like I should put 80% of them on the side. Honestly I should give more leeway to moeges because a lot of them are perfectly fine in their genre but I still have most of them on the lower end because they’re like junk food.
There’s also a variance depending on the genre, like some vns are kind of dumb but they revel in it so they’re raised a little higher, like KuruKuru Fanatic. It’s mainly based on how little I can nitpick it, if it’s interesting or something that’s not frequently done, and how much I enjoyed reading it(this one has the least amount of sway otherwise Kira Kira would be way higher). I can even make some arguments for a 5 or 6 to be a 7, some of them are actually like that. They can move around sometimes, like B- and C+ can be interchangeable depending on the title.
